Mr. Nelson (Ned) Keeler
Nelson H. (Ned) Keeler was assigned as the Deputy to the Commanding General at the Signal Center of Excellence (SIGCoE) and Fort Gordon in December 2012. In this capacity, he acts for the Commanding General within delegated authority and command guidance concerning operations and activities throughout Fort Gordon. He is responsible for overseeing the training and leader development and execution missions assigned to the SIGCoE and Fort Gordon, which includes over 18,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines and over 8,000 Department of the Army Civilians (DAC) and Contractors.
Mr. Keeler has been a member of the Senior Executive Service since June 2001. Prior to his current assignment, he was the Director of Communications-Electronics Software Engineering for the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command from 2008 to 2012. In that capacity, Mr. Keeler managed a military-civilian organization and an annual budget of over $800 million which provided state-of-the-art life cycle engineering products and services throughout the Department of Defense. From 2006 to 2008, he served as the Director of Aviation Programs at the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, Cambridge, Massachusetts where he led a directorate of 160 federal personnel and 300 contractors providing approximately $140 million of annual systems engineering support to the Federal Aviation Administration, National Aeronautic and Space Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, United States Park Service and Postal Service.
