SLC - 1SG

Congratulations! On behalf of the Senior Leader Course and the Signal Regimental Noncommissioned Officer Academy, welcome to the Senior Leader Course (SLC).

The mission of SLC is to enhance and evaluate the professional attributes and leadership skills of all senior leaders selected to attend. This course promotes self-confidence and promotes the inculcation of the degree of responsibility expected of Senior Non-Commissioned Officers serving in a variety of positions on today's modern battlefield. SLC will improve your confidence and inspire you to willingly carry out your duties as a leader and mentor while emulating and enforcing Army standards. This is a student led course with supervision, guidance, mentorship and assistance provided by the Small Group Leaders and cadre.

You can expect SLC to challenge you but rest assured the course objectives are attainable provided you are motivated and committed to the mission. With this in mind, prepare yourself by maintaining a positive attitude and possessing the confidence that you can achieve and will graduate. We will provide you with the training, guidance and motivation to accomplish all tasks. I have instructed my cadre to provide as much assistance as possible and also to aid and assist you in every way. In order to accomplish this, a basic set of standards and discipline must be developed within each student. We will place you in a challenging environment, and assist you in your journey to become an SLC graduate earning your certification as a senior leader. Remember, Non-Commissioned Officer’s are the embodiment of Army standards and the definition of a professional Soldier.

SET THE STANDARD, LEAD THE WAY
